Cruise Buddies — Terms of Use

Welcome to Cruise Buddies (the “App”), operated by Cruise Buddies App LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using the App, you (“you”) agree to these Terms of Use (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Who can use the App

The App is invite-only. You may need a valid access code to use it. You are responsible for keeping your account and any access code secure, and for all activity under your account. We may suspend or revoke access at any time.

2. License to use the App

We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the hosted App for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the LICENSE. This is permission to use the hosted service — it does not give you any rights in our code or data.

3. Things you may not do

You agree that you will not, and will not help or permit anyone else to:

• copy, reproduce, download, or store the App’s code or data, except the automatic, temporary copies your browser makes to run the App;
• modify, translate, or create derivative works from the App;
• distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or publicly display the App or its code/data;
• reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code, except where applicable law does not allow that restriction;
• scrape, harvest, or copy the sailings database, routing/map data, or any other data we compiled, or use it to build or populate another product or dataset;
• use the App or any part of it to build or operate a competing product or service;
• remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice; or
• misuse the App (interfere with its operation, probe its security, overload it, or access it by automated means without our written permission).

4. Intellectual property

The App — including its code, design, look and feel, name, logo, and all data we compile — is owned by us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. “Cruise Buddies” and our logo are our trademarks; you may not use them without our prior written permission. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you add (such as your cruises, profile details, and messages). You grant us a limited, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, display, and transmit that content solely to operate and provide the App (including showing your shared cruises to friends you connect with). You are responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.

5a. Deleting your account — what is removed and what is kept

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. When you do, we delete your profile details, your saved cruises, your friend connections, and your login credentials.

Two things are deliberately kept, and by using the App you agree to this:

• Messages you sent to other people remain in those conversations. A private conversation belongs to everyone in it. If we erased your side of it, the people you were talking to would lose the context of their own conversations. Your sent messages therefore stay visible to the people who received them, even after your account is gone. So those conversations still make sense, we also keep the display name you used, shown next to those messages. Everything else about your profile — your photo, email address, phone number, date of birth, username and login — is deleted, and the account can no longer be used or signed into.
• Sailing information you contributed to our shared cruise database remains, no longer attributed to you. This keeps the shared database accurate for other users.

If you want a message removed before you delete your account, delete it (or ask the recipient to) first. If you need something removed after deletion, contact us at contact@cruisebuddiesapp.com and we will consider the request, including where privacy law requires us to act.

5b. How we use your information to run and improve the App

To keep the App working correctly we sometimes need to look at real accounts. The App owner may view a user's profile card and the cruises on it — including how their itineraries, maps and routes are being displayed — in order to find and fix problems, check that data is showing correctly, and improve the App. Seeing a real account is often the only way to notice that something is displaying wrongly.

We limit this deliberately:

• only the App owner can do this, and it is enforced by our servers, not just hidden in the app;
• it does not include your email address, telephone number or date of birth;
• it does not include your private messages; and
• every time a profile is opened this way it is recorded, so there is a record of what was looked at and when.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

6. Accuracy disclaimer

Sailing schedules, itineraries, port locations, maps, and routes are provided for general interest and may be incomplete or inaccurate. Do not rely on the App for navigation, booking, or travel decisions. Always confirm details with the cruise line or an official source.

7. No warranty

The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for any breach of these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time. Sections 3, 4, 7, 8, and 10 survive termination.

10. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use after changes means you accept them. These Terms are governed by the laws of Florida, USA, and any disputes will be handled by the courts located in Flagler County, Florida. Questions? Contact contact@cruisebuddiesapp.com.
